Most card projects still start the same way: with a print-ready PDF. That is perfectly fine. Because with VZUAL, your flat artwork does not have to stay flat.

Our new PDF import tool makes it easy to bring existing print-ready PDF artwork directly into VZUAL and turn it into an interactive 3D prototype.

When your PDF contains proper Illustrator or InDesign layer information, VZUAL can recognize those layers during import. For example:

  • Print

  • Screen print

  • Hot stamp

  • Spot varnish

  • Special effects

Flat PDFs are so 2000.

And yes, flat files are still part of the workflow. But they just got a serious upgrade. On import, the user can decide which layer should be used for the printed artwork and which layers should act as masks for materials, finishes, or embellishments.

Even better: when the PDF layers are named according to the VZUAL material tag or material ID, the system can automatically match them and convert the artwork directly into the correct 3D materials.
